Restore & Finesse Your Augmented Breasts in Miami, FL
Breast enhancement surgery is about more than achieving larger breasts; it is about sculpting and shaping a beautiful bust that enhances your confidence, whether you are out on the Miami beaches, spending quality time with your family or thriving at work.
Breast revision is a complex surgery that fine-tunes the results of a previous breast augmentation. It is typically performed as a third or even fourth surgery to resolve lingering issues or complications that may have crept up over time from an earlier procedure.
No matter where your initial surgery was done, the highly skilled and qualified plastic surgeons at PURE Plastic Surgery specialize in breast enhancement procedures, including breast revision, and are dedicated to providing you with results that you will love for years!
What is Breast Revision?
Breast revision is a follow-up procedure for refining and improving upon a previous breast augmentation. Often sought by women experiencing suboptimal results from their initial breast surgery, it is a complex procedure typically reserved for complicated cases. Breast revision can reshape or reconstruct the breasts to provide more natural-looking results and address complications like rupturing, rippling or capsular contracture.
Breast revision is entirely customizable, meaning that it will be personalized to your specific needs. During your consultation with our team, you will have the opportunity to discuss how you are feeling about your current implants and what you hope to see from your final results.
Benefits of Breast Revision
Breast revision can correct nearly any issue following breast surgery. Because this procedure incorporates a variety of techniques, it offers a wide range of benefits. Some of these include:
- Implants that better suit your body frame and cosmetic wishes
- Correction of implant complications, such as capsular contracture, rupture or displacement
- Adjustment of changing augmentation results
- Lifted, firmer breasts
- More symmetrical breasts
- Smaller, better-shaped areolas
- Improved confidence
- Long-lasting results
Ideal candidates for Breast Revision surgery
Breast revision procedures are ideal for women looking to fix the results of a previous breast surgery. Your results can evolve over time, and physical changes, such as weight gain or loss, pregnancy, breastfeeding or the natural aging process, can alter how you see your breasts. A consultation with our team allows us to examine how your results have changed and what we can do to improve them. Ideal candidates for this procedure include those who:
- Are healthy and do not have any pre-existing health conditions that impair healing
- Are not pregnant or breastfeeding
- Maintain a stable weight
- Are realistic in their expectations
- Desire this surgery for themselves
How is Breast Revision performed?
Your surgical plan will be thoroughly discussed during your consultation and may include one or more of the following techniques. Breast revision is a single-day procedure, and you will be able to go home shortly after the completion of your surgery.
Breast Implant Removal
Breast Implant Exchange
Breast Lift
Areola Reduction
Nipple Reduction
Breast Revision recovery
You will be moved to our recovery room immediately after your surgery, where you will be monitored until you are cleared to return home. Breast revision is an outpatient procedure, but you will need someone to drive you home and stay with you for the first day or two.
Your breasts will be covered with gauze and bandages. A compression bra should be worn for several weeks to help with healing. This garment not only controls swelling but also protects the healing incisions and helps ensure that the implants settle in the correct place.
Similar to your breast augmentation recovery, you will be asked to take several days away from work and avoid strenuous exercise and heavy lifting for at least six weeks. You can expect to feel sore and tired. Prescribed or over-the-counter pain medications can help alleviate any discomfort. While many women experience smooth recoveries, it is important to be on the lookout for the following, as they may be an indication of a more significant complication:
- Persistent pain
- Swelling that worsens
- Fever
- Heat at the incision sites
- Numbness or loss of sensation
- Pus or discharge from the incision area
- Excessive bleeding
Breast Revision
results
Because every woman’s breast revision involves different techniques, no two women’s results will look the same. However, we feel confident that you will love your results, whether you have chosen larger implants, smaller implants or opted for a restorative procedure like a breast lift.
Your results should be long-lasting, barring significant weight changes or additional pregnancies, and any further changes can be adjusted as needed.
