What are
Dermal Fillers?

The most popular and prevalent dermal fillers are made with hyaluronic acid (HA), a naturally occurring complex sugar that attracts and retains moisture to keep the skin plump and hydrated. What to expect during treatment
Dermal filler injections are a quick and simple procedure that can be performed in our Miami office. During your appointment, your provider will go over your treatment goals and may have you make a number of facial expressions to identify your concerns. Then, a small amount of filler will be injected into key areas to smooth away unwanted lines, wrinkles and folds. The needle used is very fine and should cause minimal pain, but we understand that each patient's level of tolerance is different. A topical anesthetic can be used to increase your comfort.
After treatment, you’ll be free to return home and immediately resume normal activities. Our team will provide you with aftercare guidelines to help you achieve the best results, which may include applying cold compresses, avoiding strenuous exercise for 24 hours, and not touching the treated area to limit the possibility of the filler migrating away from the injection sites.
Is there any
downtime?
No recovery or downtime is required after receiving dermal filler injections, although you’ll experience some minor redness, bruising and swelling for a short time following your appointment. No matter which product was used during your treatment, any side effects can be easily managed with ice packs and over-the-counter pain relievers.
Dermal Filler results
One of the most appealing aspects of fillers is that the results are immediately visible. As soon as the filler is injected, you'll notice smoother skin, reduced wrinkles and restored volume in treated areas. This makes dermal fillers an excellent choice for busy individuals looking to rejuvenate their appearance quickly without surgery, downtime or a long recovery period.
The longevity of your results may differ depending on your concerns and the filler used. In areas with less movement, such as the cheeks, the effects tend to last longer, up to 18 months or more. If you opt for treatment in areas with high mobility, like the lips or mouth, the product may metabolize faster and require a touch-up after about six to nine months.
As you notice your results beginning to fade, dermal fillers can be safely re-administered to help you maintain smooth, youthful skin all year. Your treatment may also be combined with other nonsurgical procedures like Botox and IPL photofacials to bring your results to the next level!
