3 Tips for Blepharoplasty Recovery

Are people constantly asking you if you’re tired or what’s bothering you? When suffering from droopy eyelids, it can create the appearance of looking exhausted or depressed, even if you’re feeling well-rested and in a happy mood.

The good news is that you do not have to simply accept this. Blepharoplasty, which is also known as an eyelid lift, can help to remove the excess fat and/or skin that has gathered below or above your eyelids. This helps to make you look more radiant and awake, as well as taking years off your appearance.

BLEPHAROPLASTY OVERVIEW

Blepharoplasty, also known as an eyelid lift, is a type of treatment that repairs droopy eyelids. This can involve removing excess fat, muscle, and skin.

The aim of this is to improve drooping or hooded eyelids or eye bags. For lower eyelid surgery, the treatment tends to involve incisions being made either inside the lower eyelid or just below the lower eyelashes. The fat will then be removed or repositioned, and sometimes a little amount of skin. The tendon and muscles of the eyelid will be supported if required, and then the incision will be closed.

With an upper eyelid lift, the incision is typically made along the eyelid crease in the natural skin fold of the eyelid.

3 TIPS FOR EYELID LIFT RECOVERY

The recovery process is important after any sort of treatment. Here are three important steps to take:

Follow the instructions provided by your surgeon

There is only one place to begin, and this is by following the instructions that Miami’s best plastic surgeon, Dr. Alex Earle has provided. Once you have had an eyelid lift, Dr. Earle is going to provide you with aftercare treatment that is tailored to suit you, and so it is imperative that you follow the advice that is given to ensure efficient recovery.

Avoid applying makeup to the treatment area

While you may want to get back to your typical skincare and makeup regime, you should avoid using products on the treatment area until it is fully healed.

Use a cool compress

Finally, you should use a cold compress, as this can be beneficial in terms of decreasing comfort and reducing the swelling that occurs after the surgery. You should avoid applying ice directly onto the skin.

AM I A GOOD CANDIDATE FOR BLEPHAROPLASTY?

There are many reasons why you may want to consider blepharoplastyThis includes the following:

  • Bags under your eyes
  •
  • Excess skin on the lower eyelids
  •
  • Excess skin of the upper eyelids, which is interfering with your peripheral vision
  •
  • Droopy or baggy upper eyelids

The ideal candidate for this treatment is a healthy adult who has realistic expectations about what the procedure can do for them. This is something that will be discussed during the consultation process so that you know what to expect from the treatment.
