Eyebrow Lift in Miami, FL
Eyebrows play in an important role in highlighting the best features of the face. They are key to overall appearance, face shape and facial expressions. Sagging or uneven brows can cause a tired, angry, sad or worn-out look that interferes with how emotions are communicated through the face and may cause a patient to appear older. Lower brow positioning can also create sagging in the upper eyelids, which may impair vision.
A brow lift improves the upper half of the face by raising the soft tissue and skin of the forehead, brow and eye area. The procedure repositions the eyebrows by moving the brow arch and removing forehead wrinkles to create a more youthful appearance. The goal is to restore the natural arch in the eyebrows, reduce sagging in the upper eyelid, remove excess skin from the upper area of the face, reduce the appearance of crow’s feet and improve the hairline.
Types of Eyebrow Lifts
Depending on patient goals, the surgeon may perform one of the following eyebrow lift procedures.
Hairline brow lift can reduce the appearance of a receding hairline while also improving the position of the brows. It requires the surgeon to make an incision between the top of the forehead and the start of the hairline. During the procedure the surgeon skin and soft tissue are removed from the forehead.
During a Temporal brow lift a surgeon create a small incision behind the hairline near the temples.
Endoscopic brow lift inserts a long thin tube connected to a light and camera through small incisions created behind the hairline. The camera allows the surgeon to view the muscles and tissues underneath the skin. The forehead tissue is lifted and anchors the tissue to its new position with sutures. Afterward the incisions are closed using stitches.
For those with bushy eyebrows, a Direct brow lift may be the best solution as it removes the skin directly above the eyebrows to create a more desirable brow size and shape.
Coronal brow lift lifts the forehead by creating an incision across the hairline from ear to ear. The incision is hidden behind the scalp. This procedure works best for those with strong hairlines and thick hair.
How long does brow surgery take?
Brow lift surgery typically takes about 1 to 2 hours and is performed in a surgical center or a hospital. A patient may be given general anesthesia. After the procedure the forehead may be wrapped, and a tube may be placed in the incision to drain blood or fluid.
