The Miami Makeover – a signature procedure at PURE plastic surgery
Miami is a city renowned for beaches, art, luxury and beauty. In recent years it has been named one of the plastic surgery capitals of the world and a beacon of continuous innovation for trends in the industry. PURE Plastic Surgery is a Miami-based plastic surgery practice known for setting the standards for beautiful, timeless and safe cosmetic surgery. In 2022, we unveiled the South Beach Butt Lift (SoBeBL), our signature Brazilian Butt Lift (BBL) procedure for our patients with lower levels of fat and body mass index (BMI). This year we are introducing the PURE Miami Makeover – a combination of a breast procedure (breast lift or augmentation) with either Lipo 180 or Lipo 360. High definition liposculpture can be added as well.
In recent years the BBL has been the center of attention in the plastic surgery industry. While the BBL remains one of our most popular surgeries at PURE, many patients are looking to create an hourglass shape while addressing the breasts as well.
As we age, the breasts, back and abdomen areas may experience changes due to body weight fluctuations, gravity taking its toll on skin elasticity and the normal effects of aging. The Miami Makeover addresses issues, such as saggy or tuberous breasts and pockets of fat in the abdominal region and back.
Who is a good candidate for the PURE Miami Makeover?
- 18 years or older
- At or near ideal weight
- Want to improve the appearance of breast cleavage, size, projection or volume
- Suffer from tuberous breasts
- Does not plan to have additional pregnancies
- Meets BMI requirements
Breast augmentation or breast lift – which procedure is right for you?
Breasts are a major component to an hourglass figure. Size, volume, shape and positioning can impact the overall shape of the body. The PURE Miami Makeover includes either breast augmentation (implants) or a breast lift with or without implants. No two breasts are the same and patients often struggle with making a decision on whether to have implants, a lift, or both.
Over two million breast surgeries were performed in 2020. Breast surgery is the most popular plastic surgery procedure in the world with over 1.6 million breast augmentations (implants) and roughly 600,000 mastopexy (breast lift) surgeries performed. Breast implants are the most popular of the two surgeries and they are designed to create projection and volume. Breast lifts reduce skin sagging and lift the breasts to a more ideal location. Both breast implants and lifts can improve the bust area and often the procedures are combined for optimal results. Please talk to your surgeon to discuss the option of having both procedures done as a part of your PURE Miami Makeover.
Breast implants – a popular choice
Breast augmentation in Miami uses implants to improve and create a larger and more attractive breast. Breast implants improve the volume, shape, size and projection of the breasts, which can positively attribute to a beautiful overall body shape. For some, pregnancy and aging are the cause of changes in the bust area and for others, genetics play a major role in significant issues, that require surgery to correct, such as tuberous or asymmetrical breasts.
Candidates for breast implants are 18 years of age or older who want to improve the appearance of their cleavage, size, projection or volume. For some patients, breast augmentation surgery is purely for cosmetic reasons and to improve confidence. For others the surgery may correct a more serious issue.
Which implants are right for me?
There are various materials, sizes and shapes for breast implants. Patients have a choice between saline and silicone material, choosing the amount of volume or whether they want a tear drop or round shape, smooth or textured implants. Consult with your surgeon to find the implants that will help you reach your desired goals.
Will breast implants correct breast asymmetry?
Patients experiencing breast asymmetry may be good candidates for breast implants. Asymmetry occurs when there is a difference in position, volume or form of each breast. Hormonal changes, such as puberty, pregnancy, birth control and menopause may cause the breasts to grow or change at different rates causing one breast to look different from the other. Some asymmetrical breasts will re-balance after hormonal shifts are complete. Others will find that the asymmetry is permanent and will seek breast implants as a remedy.
Will breast implants correct tuberous breasts?
Breast implants are often the best solution to correct Tuberous breasts and an in-depth assessment from a board-certified plastic surgeon is required. Physically, tuberous breasts can vary from mild to severe and can affect self-esteem, aesthetics and breast asymmetry. They can cause breast constriction, inframammary fold malposition and areola prominence (large areolas).
It is not clear what causes tuberous breasts. Most tuberous breasts occur during puberty and can be the result of abnormal gland development because of collagen excess in the fascia that can alter the shape of the breasts.
Surgery for tuberous breasts may have to occur in stages or several surgeries to get the desired results. For mild cases, there may only need to be one stage of surgery. The goal of the first stage is to release constricted breasts tissue, lower the infra-mammary fold, reduce the areola, and add volume with use of an implant.
Breast lift surgery – an elevated procedure
Sagging skin in the breast region is known as ptosis. We see sagging breast in many of our patients, either as a result of aging, pregnancy or rapid weight loss. Breast lift surgery in Miami aims to correct breast ptosis and restore the breasts to an improved position and shape. During a breast lift, excess skin is removed, and incisions are created in the breast tissue to elevate the breasts. The number of incisions and patterns will depend upon the amount of excess skin, breast volume and patient goals. When the excess breast skin is removed and the tissue is lifted, the breasts may appear smaller. However, both the breast and areola will be repositioned to appear firmer and more youthful.
Lipo 180 vs Lipo 360
When stubborn fat deposits settle in the abdomen, flank and back areas, it can cause the body to lose its natural shape. Liposuction known as lipoplasty or body contouring is a technique in cosmetic surgery that uses suction to remove excess fat from under the skin. For some Lipo 180, which only targets the front of the abdominal area or back will be the best option. For others, Lipo 360 is complete liposuction around the entire trunk. Both will re-shape the body to help reach the desired goals.
Who is a good candidate for liposuction?
Strong candidates for liposuction in Miami are patients already at or near their ideal weight with positive eating habits and exercise routines. During consultations, we ask patients to avoid significant weight gain post-surgery, including pregnancies to maintain optimal results and avoid additional rounds.
